Welcome to the King of Fighters 2020 (NOT MERCS) Simulated Character Battle Tournament!

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

To participate, just vote in bold for whichever character you believe will win. Giving reasoning is optional, but please be polite and read what others have said and carefully make your decision. I'll ping the nominators (they can opt out) to give arguments if they wish.

Hades is one god.

Three is more than one.

... but in all seriousness, should be a really fun fight. I do lean toward Aku since Regular Pit could traverse through Hades' insides and do some strong damage, and Aku can basically shrink copies of himself inside to do similar. Copies that, if they die, won't fuel Hades at all since they don't have souls for him to convert into minions.

Actually it required three gods to defeat the primordial darkness thing that Aku spawned from. Aku himself could not throw down with the divine. He couldn't retrieve that Jewel of Neptune that was guarded by the elementals and it was made pretty clear Ra could have obliterated Aku in the Minions of Set episode. Leaning Hades here

The two of them hit it off instantly and ditch the battle to go terrorize humanity. Draw

Yeah, not really. But I would like to see that team-up.

I don't think either of them really has a way to put the other down for good, this'll probably just come down to forcing the other out of the battlefield or something. Can't see Hades getting caught in a time portal though, he's giant and can teleport.

Ironically, Hades just eating Aku might be a way for him to win this, whatever he eats just ends up in another dimension and whatever happens in there doesn't affect him that much. Even when he had his heart destroyed he just said 'Well, that hurt. Anyways..."

Yeah I am going to give it to Hades. At the end of the day, divine stuff is Aku's kryptonite and Hades is a divine powerhouse. This is just a bad matchup for Aku as humorous as the encounter itself would be.

that's actually something I didn't think about before this, everything Hades does has divine power behind it, even though he's an evil god he's still a god. I admittedly don't really know how his alternate dimension thing works but Aku's durability is kind of a non-factor now

Yeah.... that's kind of a hard thing to argue against, when "Are you a God?" is answered with laughter and "Yes."Despite how much I like Aku, and would root for him in the fight.
