Who would have thought a billionaire would take advantage of all those tax loop holes meant for billionaires?

Trump is one of the right's biggest bogeymen.

He's certainly the establishment's biggest bogeyman: A political outsider who won a primary by barely spending any money and has managed to get by the usual gatekeepers meant to keep political newcomers out. He broke the machine, which terrifies the fuck out of establishment politicians on both sides.

Except he pays taxes and, unlike other presidents, he doesn't take a salary. You could net the $400k/year salary against his healthcare and still come out over $350k ahead.

He pays massive amounts of taxes. Some of the taxes he pays are more taxes than you'd pay in your entire life... which doesn't necessarily mean much. And unlike previous presidents who took $400k/year from the government, he forwent a salary.

Who would have thought that people can write down their losses for a tax deduction just like anybody else?

Do right wingers just not understand math? Like do they not get that 400k is significantly smaller than the millions Trump has saved by dodging taxes, or the millions he's made by exploiting his position as President?

Yeah, $750 sure is a massive amount of money.

To be fair, I thought that was a massive amount of money when I was six years old.

You keep talking about trump not paying his taxes, but from what I understand as president the IRS regularly audits him. I would think they would have found something in the 3 almost 4 years he has been president. Honestly I am a little jealous of his accountants, I wish I understood the tax code half as well as they do.

Thank you for the heads up, where did you hear that I haven't seen anything about trump fighting the IRS?

I see no way what I said can be construed as meaning that trump is fighting the irs. Also I could be wrong, people are fallible after all. So unless you have something more concrete than using what I said, I'm going to have to disregard the idea that trump is fighting with the irs.

I deleted my previous response because I couldn't edit it. Once again I haven't found anything to indicate that they found something during an audit. Honestly I thought that kind of stuff was private. If you are referring to the NYT reporting, from what I understand all they did was leak the information. I could be wrong but I haven't seen the IRS make any kind of statement regarding irregularities in trumps taxes.
