It should be Project Zero here, but the NTSC version works better in PCSX2. And has a slightly better title. But much, much worse boxart and logo.

So yeah. Zero/Fatal Frame/Project Zero, depending on where you live, is a very Japanese horror series where schoolgirls fight ghosts by taking pictures of them with a magic camera.

Thoughts so far-

- Voice acting is awful
- Miku looks a bit like P3P FeMC. This makes her awesome.
- I wish I'd known from the start I'm supposed to be photographing the non-threatening ghosts for extra spirit points (EXP). I figured that would be akin to killing friendlies, but apparently not.
- The seemingly friendly child ghost asking for help/helping me and the big bad ghost killing everyone are probably two aspects of the same person.
- Japanese horror is severely fucked up. Even if these rituals work, you have to wonder how people came up with them in the first place. "Okay, just strangling them doesn't work, let's try keeping the sacrifice in solitary confinement for a decade first, then use ropes to pull all their extremities off at once. If that doesn't appease the devil, I don't know what will!"

I'm enjoying this. Not quite as terrifying as I'd expected once I got used to the tone. Incidentally, what's the general consensus on original v wiimake of Project Zero 2?

I think they're actually different enough to both warrant a playthrough. I vastly prefer the fixed camera of FF2 to the over-the-shoulder remake though.
