Two characters like each other but haven't officially dated yet or made their intentions clear, and the other gets upset when he/she finally does and the character says "I slept with X last night, I just want to start this relationship honestly" etc

I mean, you already know they've had sex with other people, so what exactly is so different about them sleeping with someone 12 hours earlier
