I never played minecraft, but at least he has a more unique moveset than another generic Waifu Emblem character. Sure he's got no personality to take from but his moveset looks far more interesting

Byleth is at least a Nintendo character in their eyes. (In mine, that's not good enough. Byleth is indeed worse for being part of that shitty high school simulator. Also female Byleth is a grotesque abomination.)

I like the recent fire emblems but one of my biggest complaints is the no personality player avatars. It's flat out terrible. Silent protagonists should have been left in the 90s, it's so hard to watch a scene where characters just talk to you while you stand there awkwardly and offer a three word response once a conversation.

But steve having no personality shouldn't matter, his moveset alone tells anyone what minecraft's all about. Byleth is just I use various different blades and play almost exactly like other FE characters here

sometimes the gimmick these new characters have is either OP or useless. But I guess if you're paying money for new characters, they better be interesting to play at least. Nobody wants to play another variation of Marth or Mario but have to pay extra for it this time

I think it just comes with the territory when you pay disproportionately more for the DLC cast. The per character budget is going to be higher than the base game, where the price is split among the entire product. When you charge $5 per character, especially when your stage list and cast is as large as it is in Ultimate, it's no surprise there's a lot more care to make the DLC characters unique.

I agree. Its so awkward when everything else is voiced but your character just stands there like a dick and never says anything.

If it had been in the base game it would have been fine, but so far the season 2 dlc pass consists of a random character from a gimmick game and some lego blocks. It's very unappealing as a purchasing aspect.
