Poll of the Day > I think I finally came up with an idea for a game that works to my advantages...

Yasee, I want to make a game to give back to the gaming community (and make money)...

But a singular project takes a huge amount of time and commitment and attention and love; Things I can do but aren't what I'm best at.

What I 'am' good at, though, is tinkering and doodling and scripting and trash like that. Scripts upon scripts and such.

So, the game? A non-game... but just a box of tutorials that I make for other people; A dumping ground for any idea I get that I can just update over time. A "Lokbox" so to speak. If I want to experiment with shaders I can do that, find something that works, add it to the game in an isolated area, and then include tutorial notes on how to do that effect.

If I want to make a singular boss fight, I can do that! If I want to make a singular puzzle, I can do that! If people go on the Steam forum for it and ask how to do a specific effect in the game I'll post the code, or they can request features that I'll add in.

It means I would be able to give back to the community while playing to my strengths... troubleshooting and experimentation

So a bunch of somewhat disjointed but highly innovative indie 'mini games' that are more one-and-done than 'play over and over.'

Also if you set out purposely to make money don't be upset if you don't. There's way too much competition and you have to also be really lucky / have a great publisher / get picked by ultra youtubers and etc.

You should do it because you want to do it yourself for fun firstmost if you can.
