Homelander going crazy over the stuff in the pictures when it turned out that he wasnt even the person who did it felt great. He was an asshole who was easily pushed over the edge and basically ruined his own life for nothing. I didnt expect the stuff with Butcher to end the way that it did but it made perfect sense. I remember when I read that part and I came to the realization that Hughie was part of The Boys so he could stop him right before Hughie actually said it. Its tragic that Butcher went way overboard and even knew that what he was doing was wrong but still couldnt directly stop himself from going through with it. It sucks that he killed MM, Frenchie and The Female

Yeah I really wish they lived. I figured out why butcher chose hughie once I saw him off vas and the legend. I figured he'd make his way thru all of them and get to hughie and not even really try to fight him. what gets me is he was always gonna kill them no matter what and I don't like that, little too cartoonishly evil, to the point I thought he'd kill Annie too. knew he was lying about gutting hughies mom. very punisher max character

the homelander/black noir reveal was so so out there but I didn't mind any of it at all. black noir was always psycho and he went completely insane when he was forced to ignore his programming for so long. he committed cannibalism and necrophilia just to make homelander think he was completely irredeemable. for a microsecond I felt bad for homelander when I saw his reaction, but he still chose to do every fucked to hell thing after that so fuck him

I think homelanders DNA is just inherently fucked. I mean hes a captain nazi clone so it was never gonna turn out well

what I don't get is, what was up with the black noir hughie scene in the sewer? why did black noir violate him and call him a good soldier?

Ah so youve finished it. Yeah, the ending was a doozy. When I said the simulation was funny in hindsight I was talking about how besides Jack and A-Train (and Starlight) the Seven ended up killing each other. I mean, its not like Butcher couldve actually done anything to Homelander and Noir if they actually wanted to kill the Boys. And then likewise Butcher takes out the rest of his own team.

Ill admit, looking back the actual concept was really dumb. Why would you make a back-up supe just in order to take down the main supe in case he goes rogue and then not have anything in back-up for the back-up supe? And then why would Butcher continue his crusade against supes so much he would target everyone with V in their system (majority of who are innocent ordinary civilians) when the main cause of all the evil is because Vought were complete imbeciles about Noir.

Speaking of Vought, Butcher doesnt even personally do anything to take them down even though theyre the root cause and Stillwell gets off scot free. He only loses because he realizes no one will like supes anymore but he still came out of it physically and legally unscathed. He could always find a new job. Bradley is the one that gets ultra screwed for doing his instructions.

It was definitely a hell of a ride though. Wish MM couldve made it. He was so cool and probably my favorite character. His family definitely cant be shown on tv though lol.

Black Noir being a backup doesn't make much sense, agreed. Sure, they need a backup in case superman goes off the rails. But what if batman goes off the rails too? They shouldn't have assumed he'd be more easily controlled, especially considering who they're clones of.

I still don't know why Black Noir violated Hughie and called him a good soldier. For greasing the wheels and helping Butcher escalate things with the seven? But why violate him?

As for Butcher, I think he went after the team and every V-infected person because he had to make himself into enough of a bad guy to force good guy Hughie to do him. He told Hughie that he didn't come up with the plan until sometime after russia. I think he knew he wanted Hughie to be the one to kill him, but since Hughie was so pure he had to become pure evil. IDK. I wish he didn't do it. He wanted to die but he had to manufacture a way for that to happen i guess. Couldn't just off himself

Vought and Stillwell definitely come out too clean. Stillwell predictable uses Bradley as the fall guy and just fucks off. Knew it was coming but I wanted more for him than just a verbal thrashing from Hughie

I miss MM and Frenchie a lot yeah. They didn't need to go. If they didn't investigate Butcher, who knows? Hughie may have stopped him in time and they come out alive. I do hope someone went and put Mrs. MM outta her misery

And yeah, I think wanting them to escalate the conflict was a part of it. I think it was mainly to establish how off Noir was.

Good reasoning on all the other points too. Same, I wish he didnt do it and couldve learned how to recover but I guess finally avenging his wife gave him a sense of emptiness once its over. Wish he couldve dealt with vought first though.

I believe Dear Becky just started this year. I actually dont know much about it since I read the comic 2-3 years ago. Whats it about?

I only read Dear Becky #1 so far. It takes place 10+ years after The Boys and opens with Hughie and Bobbi (formerly Bobby) shooting the shit at the pub in Hughie's hometown. Hughie's finally moved past things and is tying the knot with Annie. When he gets home he finds a mysterious parcel containing Butcher's wife's journal, except her pages are torn out. The remaining pages are Butcher's thoughts. Hughie starts to read it but he gets a chill down his spine and feels Butcher's presence watching him and crumbles to the floor, terrified. That's where the first issue ends

Thanks. Thats interesting. Wonder if itll mainly be flashbacks or if thisll be a new situation or a mixture of both. The title sounds like a flashback.
