I will never tire of people's astoundingly inflated sense of self in this game. They just simply cannot handle the fact that someone whose skills are less polished than theirs (and thus, the range of results between a good game and a bad game is wider) could possibly be the same rank as them. Or that someone could just have an off game. Or be drunk. Or anything.

If you make an error? Then that is definitely how you play ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE TIME.

Oh yeah it's been toxic forever (well...on occasion. most games are fine. positive, even!). The game is played by people, and people are stupid, and you can't fix stupid.

I used to engage a lot more back in 2017-2018-ish. Wouldn't necessarily start it but would get into it with people sometimes. Nowadays I'm much more chill and just don't care. But on occasion when some is being especially dumb I'll respond in a subversive troll kinda way just to watch them go. I'm part of the problem in that way, I know, but I have fun with it.

Like the other day one of my teammates said that my "playstyle" was toxic. No clue what that means exactly, but it was in a game where we were losing bad, like 6-1 or something. I just let it go and didn't respond. Eventually after I didn't engage they started appealing to our other teammate to back them up on the point. After it went on for a minute I chimed in just to be like "My record tonight coming into this game is 7-1, I'm not the problem" (paraphrasing here). The numbers were completely made up. I'd played like 20 games and probably won about 12 or 13. But I just said it to get a rise out of them because they'd already taken steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 of being a total jerk for no reason. Stuff like that can be its own kind of fun.

It actually loaded and started a competitive game with no orange team.

There was nobody to initiate a forfeit so we had no choice but to play out the entire game. Lol.
