Lagoa, a Cuban American from Florida whose parents fled Castro 5 decades ago and spoke of how her father left a communist regime and longed wanted to be a lawyer as her nomination would greatly aid Trump's cuban american vote in the state. Democrats are already trying to find ways to stall the vote including Nancy Pelosi forcing an IMPEACHMENT vote that could stall the Senate vote as other Democrats threaten to PACK the court if they control the senate and congress and white house in November. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski have already said they will not vote for a senate confirmation leaving 2 others Democrats need to stall the vote. In swing states, senators like Cory Gardner could also not choose to vote which would upset centrist and independent voters for his re-election Mitt Romney is another who could spoil Trump's nomination as he and Trump have had public clashes as the 2 do not like each other. Either way, Mitch McConnell will push through a vote as he and Trump were salivating on having a super conservative majority and hoping to overturn some key laws including the ACA and Roe v Wade If Trump wants to get out the evangelical vote out, he will likely choose Barrett but if Trump wants to get out the Hispanic vote, he will go for Lagoa.
