I understand that's kinda how theatrical versions of cartoons have to be, ie they need an overarching plot, but i felt really bad for Homer. I also feel like as the movie goes on, the jokes get sparser, or at least more tied into the plot which made it harder for me to savor the humor. That said, as I was pretty young, two jokes really got me. When they flash the pretend ad at the bottom, that blew my mind, they totally got me Also the "To Be Continued. . . . saspa 09/20/20 1:44:17 PM #22:	I love the first 8 seasons of the simpsons and consider myself something of a fan now, but when this movie came out I'd never seen a single episode of the simpsons. Was actually dragged to see this movie first before ever seeing a full episode. This movie has some cheap laughs here and there but it's more family guy level humor than simpsons humor of nearly 30 years ago.
