I have a gaming monitor at 144hz but my tv is def not 120hz. Most people i feel play on tv's for consoles, which is where i wanted to play for games rather than at my computer desk with my gaming monitor. Well, hopefully this means that games are going to run consistently at 60 fps now.

It's basically interchangeable with FPS

It's a "per second" value. In this instance, it's the number of frames a display can show in a second.

It doesn't matter above 30 though. The human eye can't see above that rate.

I got a 120hz TV earlier this year, but yeah I imagine they're the vast minority. They'll be slightly more common by the end of the gen.

I guess technically hz is how fast a screen can show an image and FPS is how fast an input is running. So you can have 60 fps on 60hz or 45fps on 60hz or 13457fps on 60hz

I just upgraded from a 1080p plasma from 10 years ago (with burn in) to a 4K LG with 120hz option (yes it has HDMI 2.1) so yea we in there.

I don't. My TV is like a decade old, but it's held up fine.

The human eye definitely can't see a difference above 60 FPS.
