Being alone the weeks my kids aren't here is boring. I don't mind being active with the animal since I barely go on the tv a lot. I barely played God of War since the weekend.

My issues are dog hair everywhere. I'm a clean person. The dog smell. And I really don't wanna pick up dog shit.

I still deal with my youngest son who will be out of diapers by next year aND getting a puppy means going back to sleepless nights. My youngest at times gets up at 5 or 6 still.

Dogs are a big commitment.

Your lack of conviction tells me you shouldn't get one.

I could get ones that don't shed a lot but GSD are the ones I prefer. And I don't like small dogs cause they tend to yap too much.

depends on the issues upon getting an older dog.
i don't mind her but if my roommate goes to work it starts to eat at my sanity :(.

might be joint issues/anxiety or a mix of the two.

I'd have to get the dog into modeling so it makes an income and I'd take a cut of that income since the dog would be taking up a small space in the house to sleep. So of course I'd charge the bitch rent.

Kidding!

What are your guys thoughts on Beagles?

Seems like the better choice compared to a GSD for now.

Do you just want a beagle cause they're cute? They're extremely obnoxious and hard to train and make a ton of noise

But I don't get why you even want a dog. You don't want it for love

Also every purebred dog tends to have major problems. Like buying an American car vs a japanese car (mutt). You could choose to buy a car that will need repairs every year or one that will need nothing but oil changes for 300k miles

What are your recommends and something that doesn't shed as much then?

Yes I would give it "love". I'm not as cold hearted as people here think <_<

Didnt you say in your GSD topic that you just view "dogs as a dog" like an object for you to use?

The hypoallergenic breeds don't shed, and theyre often mixed with other breeds. Terriers in general don't have many health problems and shed less or none.

Getting a dog is like getting a friend. Would you just pick the first person you see cause you like their hair? Or would you rather go mingle with 50 people and decide which one of them clicks with you?

Go to a shelter or adoption event and meet some dogs. You might hate some and love one. I have a stray mexican dog and he was WAY better behaved out of the gate than any breeder dog

I'm not mingling with 50 puppies. At 8 weeks old they all pretty much act the same. Terriers seems meh. And looks do matter. I'm not going to get a poodle just cause we "connect" or a bulldog or pug.

Any other breed suggestions?

The pet would be shown "love", but it's purpose would be to be a family dog that follows commands and is active along with being a typical guard dog for the family. That way if I shitpost online and someone shows up the dog will be like "You here to mod someone asshole?" CHECKMATE!

Dobermans are really good dogs that shed less and are super friendly and easy to train

Poodles are great dogs, if you cut their weird hair off you can't even tell theyre a poodle. And they don't shed at all

Most of the big dogs people get for looks are just not very good dogs -- retrievers and poodle mixes are psychos. GSD have health problems cause they bred them weird.

Don't get an 8 week old then, get a 7 month old

I dislike small dogs. They yap too much.

Doberman seems cool. Someone on my street has 2 of them. I may talk to him next time. That seems like a good choice.

The GSDs I've looked into are typically healthy cause they come from a reputable breeder not a backyarder. Either way there's a chance any dog down the road could develop something.

I don't mind brushing the dog daily and it wouldn't be allow on my bed and couch. The dog would be discipline in that regards (I'm not one of those people who'll let the dog be all over the house). To each their own. The entire house is hardwood floor plus an area rug in the living room. I typically will vacuum that rug 3 or 4 times the weeks my kids are over.
