If youre going to says to use this and that, Im gong to stop you right there. The game has to give you this and that first

Ive put over 200 hours into this game and it deals me a bad game almost every single time. Its completely unfair with how utter annoying the mobs are in this game.

• 4th mana shouldnt be so fucking hard or crippling to get to. 15 Block in some of the first Floor fights will still make me take 3-6 damage, and doing that will let me attack for zero. So I have to try and kill them quickly, but there are 5 of them and it takes 2/3 cards to kill them at 13 HP, one if Im in Wrath, but then Ill just take more damage
• Game needs to give me more fucking Artifact. Status cards are bull shit. That one mini boss fight on the first floor, with 3 of those bastards filling your deck up with bull shit. Fuck you!
• And fuck regenerating final bosses. Finally get a good run, got the poison stacked high, boss is almost dead, full heal! No more 60+ poison, please start over, but now i have 17 hp and it hits for 52x2. I have 62 in total

Game is bull shit, you cant convince me otherwise. And fuck YouTube. Why are there no good videos about this game? Go over all the classes and talk about which cards to look out for, which. Relics are not worth it, ect. Not some fucking Twitch streamer that never explains why theyre doing something

But there are actually tons of good channels. Iirc Northern lion did a card ranking. For general tips, upgrade over rest unless you're about to die, remove defends first then strikes, and rather than aiming for specific cards aim for builds and get cards that help. What classes are you playing, maybe I can give more specific help. It's tough to learn, but it actually is fair

Also, you'll learn the patterns of enemies. Especially bosses. They do everything based on specific triggers and at specific times.

Personally I think Slay the Spire is very fair and one of the most well designed games Ive ever played. I still lose a majority of my runs but I always know why I lost and its usually my fault for making a few bad plays or making a bad deck.

This is my biggest issue. Im simply not smart enough to remember that many. Hell, I know like 2 in the entire game

Also, math. Being good at math would help a LOT

I know the basic stuff like that. Keeping my deck small to get the cards I need quicker, ect. There are just so many bad cards, and too hard to get to 4 mana to use two 2s

Either you are trolling here or you are terrible at the game.

The game is not unfair.
There are people with A20 heart kill win streaks etc.
If you know what you are doing it is fair. Sometimes it fucks you up though.

great game.
the whole deal is to work with the cards you can work with and discard the ones you dont need.
you pretty much have to build your own strategy everytime you play.
of course its challenging. its meant to be.
its also a kick ass fun time, so keep at it. like others have said, memorization is key, and that takes some time.

Sometimes i get what looks to be the most broken hand, and I still fail. I get corpse explosion early with poison to spare. I can play my Triple poison card back to back. But then I get zero defense, or face mobs with 3 artifact, or ones that fill my hand with junk over and over and over

I face that spike ball thing that rolls up and gains thorns when I have an offensive build going. All attack when its rolled up, all defenses when its not.

I've played dozens of rounds and only won one. It was the guy who used poison and I got REAL lucky with the cards that popped and just poisoned the whole thing to death.

His videos can be really long, but if you're fine with it take a dive through a YouTube Channel by the name of Jorbs. He has some videos where he breaks down what makes a relic/card good or bad. And IDK if he does it for every playthrough, but on one of the playthrough videos i saw he explains why he makes the decisions he does in that playthrough.

Like I said his videos (specifically the playthrough videos) can be really long, but if you're willing to watch some of them you can pick up on alot of things that can help you get better.

this complaint doesn't logically follow, artifact has absolutely nothing to do with status cards <_<

I've seen you make this sort of topic before and I really have no idea what you're doing wrong. maybe you're just not paying attention to anything that's going on in game? like no offense meant but that is a ton of playtime to still be confused about stuff like what I quoted there, or to not know a boss is going to regen hp and remove poison. Has it not happened to you tens or even hundreds of times already???

also yeah if you want very informative youtube vids I recommend checking jorbs overexplained runs. His normal runs he often doesn't really talk about what he's doing probably because he's tired of saying it over and over again but the overexplained runs really are.... overexplained. goes into so much more detail than I would have ever thought necessary or even possible https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skOUhJyWvgI

(tbh I find them so slow they're unwatchable but there is definitely a ton of info there)

Yeah I wish they gave you more card choices after defeating an enemy and maybe a choice for a different artifact after beating an elite. Like I dont want this dumb ceramic fish after losing half my health. But I guess rng is a part of card games.

what are your guy's strategy for beating the Heart as the Defect? My only luck has been with an extremely lucky claw deck with all for one.

Also, thin decks aren't inherently good in this game. You need to be able to do a lot of different things at high Ascension levels, and often times thin decks can't accomplish everything you need to do. I'd say it's better to have a thicker deck with good deck manipulation.

Scale with focus and frost orbs. Then once you're scaled, beat it up with some dank dark orbs and other stuff.

yep! my win rate at Ascension 20 is about 45%, but I usually don't go for the heart.
