I'd watch with subs, the character development and how they tie it all together is amazing, the show is something special. I wouldn't judge it off of the first episode because I remember it being very strange also. Stick with it, it's worth it.

Nothing wrong with watching food dubs when you're looking to relax.

But in this case, I didn't know it was dubbed. Was automatic.

Yeah I'd say switch over to subs.

The show obviously starts really hitting its stride in the second half of season 1. And it only starts to decline a bit once you hit the third season in my opinion. By no means is it a hard decline though. The show is pretty much consistently great. But it definitely ended exactly when it needed to.

I agree about watching it in German--I can't handle dubbing in most shows. It's got great acting and great cinematography but the plot has some huge holes. At first, it's just interesting and confusing, but then when it gets explained, the show was pretty much ruined for me. Shows shouldn't explain things, escpecially if their explanations are illogical nonsense. Still watched the whole thing though.

What huge holes specifically? The primary thing I couldn't figure out was the purpose of killing the children. But I read an explanation for that and I sort of get it now. I think for the most part it was a pretty intelligent show. Maybe a few minor plot holes though.

Yeah season 2 overall is probably the best season of the show, but 3 does wrap things up, just doesn't hit as hard as the first two seasons.
