I think that's why I've been playing fewer games over the last couple years, my time feels more valuable and I see no tangible self-improvement from it.

Depends. If your hobby is martial arts, which has benefits like health and self defense skills, I'd say it's a waste by comparison.

But if your hobby is another game like poker or mahjong, then there's not much difference there.

You can make money while you play those games. I guess you could making money with video games on twitch, but you could make a lot more from poker

Your enjoyment cant be quantified into time well spent.

I agree that it's a waste of time un a sense that you van spend hours grinding in a video game and not gain anything at all applicable to your life. In that sense yes I agree and is why I don't play as much as I use to. But its entertainment so who cares.

Yes. Absolutely. If you look at something like woodworking then not only do you get an actual product from the hobby but you learn a real life skill. With gaming you get nothing back.
