I think only DD S2 and Iron Fist season 1 lead into it. The other shows are just introducing the characters.

Just watch Daredevil instead. It's easily the best of the group. Then watch Punisher if you like Daredevil.

Im really in the minority... I liked the Defenders. Im currently in the middle of Luke Cage season 2, and these are my one sentence thoughts on each of the shows from what Ive seen so far...

Daredevil = Far and away the best of any of the shows (2 season so far)

Jessica Jones = The action is bland, the dialogue is decent (2 seasons so far)

Luke Cage = The action is decent, the dialogue is bland (1.5 seasons so far)

Iron Fist = Man, that was rough to get through (1 season so far)

Defenders = Fun when everyone shows up

Punisher = Nothings happening, nothings happening, nothings happening, EVERYTHINGS HAPPENING (1 season so far)

daredevil is the only show worth watching. and that's if you don't mind the really annoying sidekicks.

otherwise you're not really in for a good time. there are much better shows out there to watch.

Defenders was a pretty terrible season and the only worthwile thing it did was set up Daredevil S3, which was amazing.
