I'm missing 26 digitally (out of 80 for Disney/Pixar, 11 more I really care) and have everything that's been released on 4k.

Surprisingly not expensive.

VHS my parents bought me as a kid.
DVD I bought myself in high school at pawn shops and I sold them for about what I bought them for.
Bluray I used the money from the DVD's to get
Digital copies I bought new copies discounted 2-3 months after release and sold the bluray and got them basically free
4k Steelbook...okay that's costing money, but quite a few of them are selling for 2-3x what I paid on eBay so I expect to break even eventually when selling for the next thing

That's all.

Don't have that one digitally yet, but I thought it was actually pretty good. I think the worst Disney movie is by far Chicken Little.

I've picked up a ton of Disney DVDs/BR either on sale or used over the years, but I doubt I'm anywhere near close on the theatrical releases. And I also expect when you say "Disney movie" you're excluding most of the live-actions and all of the direct-to-VHS/DVD

Yeah, these ones

I might expand it to Ghibli in the future. I have to have some defined limit thats also not big. But with everything on streaming services now it seems a bit pointless to.

haha, yeah :/

At least I got good fun out of it in the past. Does disney plus have all the bonus features? I love those.

My dream job was to be a research scientist for Disney/Pixar animation. But I took a safer path eventually.

Are the 4K Blu-ray versions even worth it? Most of them are just upscaled 2K. Even movies like Toy Story that were completely done with computers, so they could just go back to the original files and re-render it at whatever resolution they want.

Theyre noticeably better than the Blu-rays even without doing a side by side comparison. Probably more due to HDR than 4k.

I sit about 8 feet from a 55 and that common colored graph says you cant start to notice 4k vs 1080p unless youre about 7 feet.

idk, it's still nice having permanent ownership.

tbh, half the time I'm using screens so small you probably wouldn't notice a difference with 1080p let alone 4k. Most things I just stream on a portion of my laptop's (or computer monitor's) screen.

Alright, out of the 56 movies listed, I own (or am pretty sure I own) 23 on DVD/BR and then I might own another 11 on DVD/BR. I'm not counting VHS because I'm getting rid of all of those anyway.

Own/Probably:
Alice in Wonderland
Bambi
Beauty and the Beast
Bolt
Brother Bear
Fantasia
Fantasia 2000
Frozen
Hercules
Lady and the Tramp
Lilo & Stitch
Oliver & Company
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Sleeping Beauty
Tangled
The Fox and the Hound
The Lion King
The Little Mermaid
The Princess and the Frog
Treasure Planet
Zootopia

Maybe:
Aladdin
Big Hero 6
Dumbo
Mulan
Pocahontas
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
The Jungle Book
The Rescuers (I remember picking up *one* of the Rescuers films, but can't remember which and not sure I have both)
The Rescuers Down Under
The Sword in the Stone
Wreck-It Ralph

Of the ones I don't have, I think the only ones I care about are Moana, The Black Cauldron, and Ichabod Crane (well, and maybe Frozen 2). Then maybe half the ones I own I probably won't bother watching again anyway. And a few that I own I haven't seen at all yet, such as Treasure Planet.

Frozen blew me away. Frozen 2 was just kinda alright. It's also one of those Disney films that feels like it's going to age as badly as Pocahontas.

I should probably watch them. I sort of watched the first one. But we were drinking and playing Cards Against Humanity while it was on. And I haven't seen the second one yet...
