What do you read more: printed books or e-books?

*Books meaning not only belles lettres, but also instruction manuals, newspapers, various documents etc.

Initially, I was gonna pick printed books, but then I realized that quite majority of my time per day (that I spend reading) I spend reading various online articles, and only at the end of the day, when all work is done, as leisure past time, I choose a printed book.

Printed, though these days the vast majority of my leisure reading is via audiobooks. It's hard to find time to read novels as often as I used to, so having the ability to do it while eating or during my commute is a boon.

Ebooks. Printed books are for hoarders or those who frequent the library.

I've only read a few ebooks so I have to say printed books. I'm comfortable with either, but for long reads having a book in your hand feels better. Doubly so for comics and manga.

Printed books; I don't really touch e-books at all. That said, haven't read a ton of books in recent years anyway.

Oh, then net online, I guess, since all of the news and articles I read are online and I read that far more than books.

Printed. Mainly because I dont have an e-reader. Been thinking of getting one. Still not sure. Nor do I know what kind I want. But I would have to try it out first...

I prefer ebooks. They take up no space, which is very important when you own over 1300 ebooks. And they're usually a lot less expensive, or even free. And I can read on multiple devices that sync between each other so I can pick up one Kindle and jump right to where I was on the other. My Kindle is waterproof and has a built-in light so I can read under any weather conditions, sun, rain, or dead of night.

But the most important thing is that I have complete control over the font, text size, margins, alignment, line spacing, and orientation. I have a few paper books that are very uncomfortable to read because the publisher used a horrible font that strains my eyes, and others where they put the margins too close to the inside edge. The Kindle is equipped with several different fonts that were specially designed to be easy to read. There's even a special font for people with dyslexia. (For those who are curious, I use the Bookerly font, size 2, narrow margins, justified allignment, single-spaced, and portrait orientation.)

I do prefer paper books for certain things like reference books, cookbooks, repair manuals, comics and art books. Anything where you might need to quickly flip to random pages instead of reading straight through, like a dictionary, is much easier to use when you have a physical copy. Cookbooks and repair manuals are better on paper because you can leave the page open indefinitely without it going to sleep or running out of battery. And comic books and art books just look better on paper. Probably at least half the physical books I own fall into one of these categories, more if you include comics.
