71 y/o Dave Feinberg, the owner of Cutter's Edge in New Jersey runs a KNIFE SHOP is causing controversy after he posted a sign outside his window that says this racist message!

The knife and sword sharpening business sits in Clifton and since 1975 remained there as the city's demographics shifted over 50 years.

He's gotten along with many new Latino and Arabic people but now people are oturaged after they see this

Rosemary Pino criticized the note as the council member says "messages liek this put us back centuries"

But he says he was surprsied by this and told New York Daily News that he wrote this after a frustrating spanish speaking customer stating "I had an impossible time understanding somebody, and the communication between this guy and myself was virtually none and i tried. And he made no attempt to communicate with me in a language i understood"

He admitted this got the best of him but claimed it had nothing about being racist against people who can't speak english and only added it's about people understanding each other in a country with one language everyone should know

He thought people would laugh it off and didn't mean to be stepping on anyone's toes and now all hell broke loose as he's getting calls from all over the place telling him to close

Regular customers have now DISTANCED themselves and condemned it as he says one customer told him "oh you're racist, i'll never come bck again"

Another wrote on social media "Shut them down for being racist pieces of s***. Racism is not welcomed in NJ"

He later removed it and made a hand written apology hung in the same sign writing "Sorry about the English sign. please except out heartfelt sadness it may have caused"

Mayor Hector Lora, who is hispanic said Feinberg was well within his rights to hang the sign even though he didn't agree with it and said "I believe everyone should understand and speak English in America and there is a process" and decried cancel culture

That is terrible grammar lmao. It doesnt make any sense. Ill clear up the spelling mistakes;

Please accept our heartfelt sadness it may have caused.

That is not a properly structured English sentence. What they were probably trying to say is something like Please accept our heartfelt apology for any sadness it may have caused.
