Diamonds Are Forever - Connery's last (canon) and considered his worst

View To A Kill - Moore's last and considered his worst

License To Kill - Dalton's last, out of only 2 but less liked than his first

Same here, and I've rewatched it more than Thunderball.

It is enjoyable. This scene is comedic gold.

Not... really? I mean most James Bond movies aren't cinematic masterpieces or anything like that, so Sean Connery's movies were all fine and ended on an ok note.

Roger Moore in general was the worst Bond in some of the lamest Bond movies, not least of which was the one where James Bond dressed as a clown, and that wasn't even the movie you picked. Worse, you picked the one that had Christopher Walken so that's just plain wrong.

Dalton only had 2 movies so it's not really fair, and for the record I liked both, he was the more serious Bond that the Daniel Craig movies were trying to be but actually still good. And License to Kill had Benecio Del Toro so...

The real pattern is that the first movie of a new Bond actor is always critically well received and then each subsequent movie is less well received to varying degrees. Moore, Dalton, Craig, Brosnan, each's first movie have high ratings and were near universally liked.

It makes sense really. A new Bond revitalized the franchise with a new interpretation. That novelty doesn't exist after a couple of movies and they sorta run out of ideas to keep things fresh.
