ideally you should get 8 hours of sleep and 16 hours up. I have no problem being awake for 16 hours, but then my brain doesn't want to sleep. But then when I do sleep I want to sleep forever.

should i do an experiment

Here's my plan. I'm gonna do a two day cycle. Day one, just fucking stay up all night. I normally get up around 8 am or whatever, but on this first day I'm already up. All night, and then all through the daylight hours.

When early evening finally comes around, I figure ill be exhausted. So ill try to sleep around 7 or 8 in the evening. Then get up at 8 am and get around 12 hours of sleep.

The exact numbers here can change but the general idea is i stay awake for way longer, and then i sleep for way longer. It just seems like that's what my body wants to naturally do. So roughly 24 hours awake, and then 12 hours sleeping.

im sitting on the toilet buck naked past midnight typing this up because I can't sleep.

Edit: my math may be off but don't judge me

I use to sleep twice within every 3 days. Did that for a couple years. There would be weeks Id go back to sleeping every night. But Id literally skip a combination of like 100 nights of sleep. Drugs were involved. But not the traditional ones people use to stay awake.

I always did the "Navy SEAL" sleep strategy

Sleep at 11, wake up at 4. Gives you enough time in the morning to piss around if you have work

I haven't had morning work in years but I think it's ideal because I'm more productive when the sun is down but I also recognize how good it is for sleep
