Winds apparently up to 60 mph,we're clearing our patio for now. You can smell the smoke from wildfires :/

Eastern WA here.

The dust kicked up by the wind made it so that you could almost look at the sun directly.

And every night our cars are covered in ash.

Wildfires are great for the environment and the only reason they're so big is 100 years of overaggressive fire management because people reflexively think "fire bad!"

Actually, Im in Northern Colorado, so I think its different fires. It was really dry this year for us and tourists dont understand that bad things happen when you throw a lit cigarette out while on a hike.

i didn't realize there was a few fires around the mount hood area, looks like it's going to get real bad in the next few days (maybe enough to warrant to stay inside).

just woke up this morning. bad power outage and the outside smells like smoke. not sure if i even want to venture outside :( they warned about this.
