I'm not surprised an Marine would feel a certain way about the whole thing, but it's still jarring because of how we were as kids. Went from blasting NWA Fuck the Police as I got arrested years ago. Now talking about how BLM protesters are the cause of the riots and disrespecting military.

It's mostly because he feels his fam might be threatened because of protests and the potential for riots nearby. I try to convince him not to generalize people, but failed. It's like everything the current issues became black and white for him. No room for grey
