And yes, I know that if Matt loses he had to "leave" AEW but so what. They can figure out a storyline reason to get him back in later after he's better.

Ouch, and after watching that John Oliver piece on wrestlers and them not having the best health insurance and having to put on shows while hurt, ouch.

What a fucked up spot. They could have at least padded the area under some carpeting. They could have dressed up that signing table area a lot and not make it look like it was out of place.

he got up before the first 10 count, but was clearly unwell. he and sammy tried to keep going for another minute or so before the ref called for medical. after a quick checkup, they called for the end of the match, but kept the cameras on Matt. after about 5 minutes they started fighting again, but ended the match after one more spot.

watching live, it was possible that it was all planned that way, (as stupid a script as that would have been), but in hindsight, it's pretty clear Matt pushed to get the rushed finish and no one overruled him.

That was very sloppy and how that was set up looked pretty bad.

I was shocked that they let Matt Hardy take a legit Chair Shot to the head.

After everything we know about CTE, and AEW allows that to happen?

We're not in the attitude era anymore, we know what happens when people take repeated head trauma.

Same with Cody, WTF was he thinking taking a chair shot to the head.

Sadly Matt's body has been broken/breaking down for the last 9 years. His spine was literally fusing together by it's self not to long ago. So a lot of people probably think he is pretty horrible in-ring.

Taking one occasional chair shot to the head doesn't mean anything if you haven't taken a number of them/you don't regularly perform moves that are damaging to your head. Matt probably shouldn't be taking chairshots since he's been in a lot of extreme matches but Cody is just fine

Sorry, CTE prevention is necessary IMO after the Benoit tragedy.

I'd say avoid targeting the head with a foreign object of any sort in the first place.

Make that part of the Rules / Regulations / Laws.

If you noticed, WWE doesn't allow intentional attacks to the head with foreign objects in most cases.

All the Wrestlers abide by that rule.

All modern chair shots avoid the head, most aim for the back or the gut.

The Wrestlers safety is more important IMO.
