So after the game when Bond takes Le Chiffre's money and he's talking to Vesper in the restaurant, how did Bond know to go after her when she leaves. All he says to himself is "Mathis" then runs after Vesper.

I know the takeaway here is that Mathis has been working for Le Chiffre until the end when it's revealed that Vesper was blackmailed into it. But I guess that also brings up another question. Who was threatening Vesper? Was it Le Chiffre or the organization that Mr. White was working for (Spectre)?

Despite the outlandish plot when simplified, out of all the Daniel Craig Bond movies, this one is easily my favorite.

I think the jist of it is that Bond realized someone was working against him and assumed it was Mathis. He then realized that since he won the money, Vesper was no longer safe because Mathis called her and wanted to meet with her.

mr White and Spectre were the ones who had Vespers bf held hostage.

This is the part you don't understand how knew to do that? Not the part esrlierminmthe movie where he could break into M's home and somehow knew all her login information? She even said herself in an awesome sounding line, "How the hell does he know these things?"

I miss Judy Dench as M.

yes, they even imply it at the end of CR as well

I thought Vesper was under the impression that her man had been killed trying to escape and that Bond would be killed too if she didn't play along and later hand over the Franklin's.

It was a deal to save Bond's life.

Don't know why having he BF appearing to have been killed and changing it over to saving Bond's life changes anything?

And Quantum under SPECTRE would have had her killed afterwards anyway.

Maybe that's why Mr. White became disenchanted with the boys.

I mean he never looked too thrilled in his scenes.
