You shouldn't force people to vote, but it should be as available as possible. Open up more polling places, do it for an entire week, and allow anyone to vote remotely for any reason.

I'm not sure how people can say "people shouldn't be required to vote" and "voting's a waste of time" or "the politicians don't represent the voters" at the same time.
