That's not going to help. If someone wants to murder you in your sleep, they can simply shoot you in the head or cut your throat. A body armor isn't going to be of any help.

Not only is body armor not going to protect you while you sleep, but you're also going to feel uncomfortable and lose sleep over it. If an invader enters your room, you'll be much less responsive and ready to defend yourself if you're in a clunky and uncomfortable body armor. It would be much more effective to fortify your windows and doors, install a good alarm system, and keep a weapon in your room. Although it might not always stop someone from breaking into your house, it'll certainly be enough to help you wake up and get ready in time to defend yourself. If it's the police you're worried about, then I wouldn't install an alarm that calls them, just one that wakes you up and potentially scares invaders.
