It doesn't. This is more or less hindsight.
The developers confirmed it and expanded with a comic so you look back and go "oh I guess this was a huge hint!!"

I however had the ability to watch and finish this with only the info that some users here thought the ending meant this. I watched it and didn't see it.

Ofc, maybe it is different watching it now vs. Back then and engaging with a fandom that probably shipped them in rule 34 long before the finale.

The show couldn't hint at it. That was too much of a risk.

In fairness, it's not like this topic didn't happen in the 2 years between show and comic. I didn't get it here until DVD releases and had heard about it, and left thinking "really, that's the big same sex thing everyone's been going ga ga over? They barely spoke in the last 2 seasons. I swear people read way too much "eye contact means sexual attraction" level fanfiction if that was all it took."

Yea I mean her eye contact with Tenzin putting his hand on her shoulder in their last scene was more notable than anything with Asami in their end scene.

They are together. It is official. They couldn't be explicit because Nick wouldn't let them. Their status as a couple has been confired by the creators multiple times and the canon comics.

There is no arguing Korra and Asami are bi and a couple. The show couldn't protray it better at the time Because that was still taboo in kids cartoons at the time.

Aang and Katara had build-up over the entire show. Aang starts with a crush on Katara, they progress as friends and as mentor and student, Katara has a bunch of moments where she realises that she's attracted to Aang while Aang's feelings continue to grow and mature, and the relationship ramps up in season 3 as Katara works to heal Aang's damage from season 2 and as they take part in battles in which they could very well die. Aspects of their eventual relationship are sprinkled through the entire show, and they pay off.

I saw the first season of LoK around the time it came out, and the ending of that season was so rushed - but the worst part of it was the Makorra ending where Mako shows up and is like "I love you Korra, I choose you!" after Asami gave him a job and gave him luxury that he had never known, and after the gang's actions out her father as an Amon supporter and remove all of that from her life. Asami gave so much up for Mako, and he dumps her after she's lost everything so he can go and have a relationship with the Avatar. Dude's named after Iroh's original voice actor as a mark of respect, but he's the worst fucking character.

Ultimately, I like what they did with Korrasami. I haven't seen the show past season 1, but Makorra was fucking trash and I think the idea of Korra and Asami growing closer over time after their initial animosity and developing a relationship from the end of season 2 onwards is a much more satisfying romantic arc in theory.

My take is that at the end of the day, shipping is meant to be a positive experience. If it's that much of an issue, think about something you prefer instead. Korrasami and Kataang are canon, but it doesn't mean you can't find another pairing that you like better and turn that into something positive.

Just started season two I cant stand Mako dont really get the Bolin hate i see online just seems like if they made Sokka an Earthbender...dont really get the hate for Korra as a whole either season 1 was better than season 1/2 of TLA...Tenzin is pretty cool too.

Bolin is the certainly the clown of the group which does lead to the comparison. But since the original series had more episodes, Sokka was only a clown some of the time. They had enough breathing room to give him story arcs where he was the scientist and the straight man and the son of a warchief.

Bolin gets nothing close to depth until the third season when he gets a begrudging respect from a villain for learning how to lavabend.

TLA was on par with Naruto until season 3 where Sokka magically becomes party leader and azulas whiny brother became a functional human being....side note Tenzins sister Gilf.

Bolin carried the probending team man, if it ran longer he totally woulda got the same treatment as Sokka I bet.
...dont get me wrong it doesnt stand on its on nearly as well as TLA but it is a sequel

I literally forgot that probending was a subplot.

And yeah he probably would have gotten more rounded out. They sorta started doing that when he joined the army in the last season. But that kind of development served the story more than it did his character.

If each season were 5 episodes longer, he and Mako could have had cool, deep, fun stuff speckled in throughout, instead of just moving from status quo to status quo.

FWIW, there was at least one hint in the show. At one point, Asami says she loves Korra's new haircut and Korra blushes.


If Asami was a dude in this scene, it would surprise no one that they got together. If she'd had a heartfelt conversation with Mansami and then walked hand-to-hand into the sunset with him, you'd have about as much confusion as Aang and Katara closing out ATLA with a kiss.

ASJWs are the worse. I was able to ignore SJWs. They were annoying sure but they also didn't take over some of my favorite You Tube channels. Too many people I watched about 2015-16 drank the ASJW kool-aid.

There isn't an argument here. They are a couple at the end of the series. That isn't up to speculation or debate. It is confirmed by the cast, by the writers and by the comics which are canon to the TV show. Not accepting it is just denial.

If you want to argue the show did a poor job building it up fine, they did. And I already said why I think they couldn't build it up. That is speculation on my part but it makes sense.
