I recently fixed my Dell laptop from 09 and found roughly 600 songs on there and multiple playlists I burned onto CDs. I would probably day 2010 was the last time I burned them on to a CD to play in my car.

September 2016
The girl I was dating was super into indie music. I made her a mix CD with some of my favorite songs for our first date. We ended up listening to while traveling to a few different places for our date. It was fun. Trying to remember the songs -- I remember some of the bands more clearly. I had songs on there by The Mountain Goats Lady Lamb the Beekeeper Car Seat Headrest Of Montreal Grimes La Sera I haven't made any since I got a new laptop that lacked an optical drive though. I sort of miss doing it. I got a CD burner in 1999, so it was something I had done for a long time. A few years ago, I was cleaning up my childhood bedroom and purged a bunch of ones I made in high school. I wish I had them still now. The hard drive I kept my legacy music died. So, some of the songs I had on those CDs are lost forever now. --- You know how fads are. Today it's brains, tomorrow, pierced tongues. Then the next day, pierced brains. -Jane Lane ... Probably about 2010 to play on my car's old CD player. That was before I replaced it with one that had a USB port.

I found my mix CD when my friend and I went from Atlanta to Chicago in 2010. Yeah those are awesome. I love how mix CDs I made for specific trips or events instantly reactivates dormant teen-brain neural pathways. It just puts me right back there. Usually accompanied by a nostalgia tinged gringe, and an inner smile that makes my heart go soft. Good times! --- You know how fads are. Today it's brains, tomorrow, pierced tongues.
