Welcome to the King of Fighters 2020 (NOT MERCS) Simulated Character Battle Tournament!

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

To participate, just vote in bold for whichever character you believe will win. Giving reasoning is optional, but please be polite and read what others have said and carefully make your decision. I'll ping the nominators (they can opt out) to give arguments if they wish.

Don't know these characters that well, what does John have that will be useful here? He'd get crushed in a straight fight but it sounds like he has so many tricks up his sleeve that it might not even come to that.

Not super familiar with both of their stuff but aren't they basically like perfect counters to each other and are savvy to each other's supernatural stuff? This seems pretty hard but currently leaning Bigby. Waiting to see any arguments

Constantine technically can't die due to taking three separate deals that would force the Lords of Hell to war and destroy all of existence.

Didn't two of them get fired by Beelzebub or something I don't know the deep John Constantine lore

but I feel like that's probably not a thing here.

I have no idea when this takes place, but it's the funniest way to end a battle between two characters I love.

This strikes me as a godstomp for Bigby. He's a lot better in a stand-up fight and he just has to KO John for it to count as a win. The only way John wins is through massive preparation and I don't think he can get that much, unless I'm missing something?

I feel like Bigby is out of Constantine's league. Like, in Big Bad form he's been seen leaving huge earthquakes while he runs and decking entire forests with his breath. John could win with bullshit magic (and I'm hesitant on this because that is generally what he does), but I think it's more likely he gets accidentally killed first by pissing Bigby off

Yes, but we're forcing a character whose gimmick is "I usually survive because I'm magically lucky and also smart enough not to pick fights I can't win" into a situation where he's plot compelled to go fight a continent shattering werewolf, so we play with what we're dealt

One time Bigby fought all of his wolf bros.

The fight was so epic from a storytelling perspective that two-headed cows were born, hurricanes raged all night, women sang new sins into the world, earthquakes ravaged the land, the old grew mad, the young had horrendous dreams.

Also Bigby won the fight and was like "I am mortally wounded, but will easily sleep this off".

What's Constantine's wind resistance potential, and can it exceed resisting a hurricane for a whole night? Because I'll freely admit I know nothing about him other than "he seems funny", but this contest seems to be one that would get harder for him the more times he tries. Bigby can regen stall and is easily patient enough to do so (see when he was cast 1,000 miles from the North Wind's castle and trekked back there to try to kill his dad, killing everything in his path. Seven times). Because I struggle seeing where Constantine hits Bigby if he keeps getting huff and puff'd. And any prep time he has is prep time Bigby has in equal measure.
