They didnt prevent him, they didnt arrest him, they didnt do anything but encourage him. The cops are right by definition, to them, and everyone else needs to be quiet and go back to their job. If it's a Saturday or Sunday, they should also go back to their job, because they don't deserve a day off. That civilians should stop and obey all things said by a cop even if they are in the wrong.
