Current Events > How's Daredevil season 2 and 3? Season 1 was okay but I'm not hooked.

As a whole, it was entertaining I guess, but some parts moved slow, some parts just felt like "We're a cool Netflix show so we gotta be cool", and mostly it felt like there was no leverage or character to what was going on. Like, Kingpin didn't seem very threatening nor powerful, we just sorta had to believe he was as powerful, corrupt, and influential as he was. Sometimes the plot seemed to get too focused on the detective/lawyer mumbo jumbo without really tying them into things. We get introduced to that old lady who got kicked out of her house for like maybe 20 min of runtime but the next 5 hours try to milk that 20 min. And so on. Some of the character development and relations felt rushed or forced, I hardly felt myself caring about any of the characters. Pretty much every fight scene was in the dark (I guess by nature of the show) so it's hard to even fully enjoy the choreography. Also how the fuck was he able to escape like 3 times at fucking gunpoint in an alley with nothing but flips n tricks.

Idk I think the most interesting parts were Matt using Sherlock abilities to notice things and some of the moral dilemmas he had with killing or not were kind of interesting, but overall I felt like it was just pretty shallow, like it had the structure of a good show, and it set up some interesting threads (Kingpin balancing crimelord tendencies with trying to be a normal person making sense of his horrible past, Matt vs Foggy's ideals on law vs vigilante, Karen blasting that guy), but nothing truly interesting or meaningful really comes out of it.

I'm not really into comics at all and I thought the Ben Affleck movie really put me off the whole Daredevil thing but I really enjoyed the series. Especially considering the Punisher tie in and then watching that show too.

plus it doesn't drag on for like 9 seasons.

I wasn't aware netflix shows were "cool" they've always been b-tier level content.

As for daredevil, I thought it was pretty damn good that first season, especislly as a buildup to something more, but that something more is disappointing as fuck.

If the performances and characters don't hook you, then you're not missing much

The first fourish episodes of season 2 with the Punisher are really great, otherwise season 2 is pretty meh. Season 3 is about as good as season 1, but if you weren't too big a fan of season 1 I'm not sure if that'll mean much to you.

It should be noted that Defenders takes place between seasons 2 and 3, but I wasn't a fan of that either.

You may like the first four or five episodes of season 2 which are just Daredevil vs Punisher, and many regard it as the high point of the series. Lot of talk about the moral dilemma with killing. Then the rest of the season is...not as good. I liked it, but not nearly as much as what came before.

Defenders is just bad lol. It ties season 2 and 3 together, but you can get the gist of what happened at the start of season 3.

I loved season 3, but then I also loved season 1. It definitely doubles down on Kingpin being a criminal mastermind without much to back it up, but he's also terrifying in ways that season 1 Kingpin wasn't. Also delves more into Karen's whole deal, and Matt's Catholicism. Also brings in Bullseye and with him, the best fights in the series I think.

Season 2 is about Punisher and the Hand, Defenders is about the Hand. Season 3 goes back to Kingpin.

Season 2 has 4 or so really good episodes and some mediocre to bad episodes. Season 3 is really good.

The season with the punisher is honestly one of my favorite marvel television/movie pieces of all time

i enjoyed it more more than the actual marvel movies
