I was pro mask use from the beginning tbh. But i remember everyone here clowning me for it and using all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify why we didnt need masks or how they were pointless even though we were dealing with a highly contagious disease

I do, I said I use tissues and stuff to open doors, fill up my car, hold onto shopping carts etc then just leave them or drop them on the floor when im done.

I only use compostable materials so its ok if you just leave them anywhere

Hmm... poll results seems strange to me. Most posts were definitely against masks at least when there were medical shortages. I remember a lot of resistance to stores in NYC implementing mask requirement policies.

I didn't want to buy masks when there were extreme shortages but i was barely going out anyway. Got my first fabric masks in early may and I've been wearing them since. Doesn't bother me to wear it and I want to do the right thing for others.

Yes, even when WHO/CDC wanted to save masks for the front line hospital workers because the USA has awful medical supply chain (see Trump and him gutting Obama's pandemic preparations, along with Repubs blocking a resupply of our medical supply cache) and tons of people are hoarders. (see sanitizer hoarding and ebay prices)

I love how now ppl are retconning their shit saying they were only against masks because of medical shortages, Not because they fell for all the gaslighting from WHO/CDC about how they dont need them or how they were ineffective. They even pushed some BS about how WEARING masks made you more susceptible and increased your chances of getting COVID19. They pushed that meme before they even finally said we should be using masks

Like yall really think hospitals and medical workers just get their mask from the pharmacy or walmart or wherever the general public buy masks? They order their shit straight from suppliers. The burden of supply was on the mask companies to makes sure hospitals etc had them first before they distributed them to the everyday people stores.

I used a dust mask I got from work for a while before switching to cloth ones that don't stand out as much.

Stopped wearing them mid June because we went down to 0 cases, but it has been made mandatory in public buildings since.

Keeping 6 feet of distance definitely does more to stop the spread, but it's easy enough to do both.

Why wouldnt I be. I was literally bullied for pointing out that the whole stance against mask use and discouraging mask use made no sense when you consider all the info that the WHO and the health experts themselves gave about them

I was pro mask from the beginning. Because I checked out Asians on Twitter back in Febuary/March. And they were laughing at US/West for not requiring masks.

There was also that viral video of the woman who was buying out masks and sending them to China. Here is that video if people missed it.

I used to think we weren't supposed to use masks because theN95 was the only effective one, and we needed to reserve those for healthcare workers. I wear masks now.
