DC would be better if they didnt keep shitting the bed while they have a good thing going.

Rebirth was killing it for a while

DC heroes are too overpowered and have little flaws. Marvel characters, even the most overpowered, are still flawed.

DC and Marvel have only both been simultaneously good at one point in history: The early 2000s. Outside of this historical anomally, one can be good, or neither can be good, but both cannot be good simultaneously.

If you're acting like there's some actual difference between DC and Marvel, you're wrong. Marvel and DC have stolen ideas and concepts from each other since the early 60's. Both have human characters with relatable issues, both have absurdly overpowered characters, and both have unadulterated badasses, in roughly equal amounts. The only exception is DC's landslide of characters nobody's ever heard of. Both DC and Marvel have equal ability to be great, all it depends on who's in charge and who's writing what.

I like that DC is more willing to be their own separate thing, where Batman can come help out Superman's problem of the month, but Batman's problems don't usually follow him to Metropolis (and vise versa).

Marvel having everything happening at the same time makes you want to get into everything, but also makes it less interesting when major things happen, because its just "why isn't everyone coming to help".

MCU movies are for the most part better than the DCEU movies, but the MCU also keeps dropping a lot of plot points between movies due to trying to make everything fit into one universe.

Agreed. I think DC stories and characters feel more real and have human depth while Marvel tends to be more extravagant and flashy? Guess it depends on your tastes.

Superman is pretty great but IMO nothing in DC is as well written as Ennis Punisher, esp MAX

Marvel does tend to jack off characters that are the personification of some abstract concept way more than DC (although even then, DC has 4 separate characters who are the personification of death) in its biggest comics. DC usually segregates the more whimsical characters (read: Vertigo) from its biggest series.

DC has the Flash, Darkseid, and Deathstroke, and that's pretty much all I need.

I'm not a superhero kind of nerd, but I do like how DC's biggest heroes aren't all so generically irreverent. So many of Marvel's heroes are annoyingly cocky and quippy and it's damn worn out.

Though I also don't like how goody-two-shoes superman is, and batman is played too straight considering how goddamn flamboyant and silly the idea is.

DCs supernatural stuff with Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, The Sandman, and then the super hero stuff Batman and Superman, Watchmen are the best there is.

But the Marvel universe as a whole is much more interesting.

I prefer DC. DC's characters are generally more interesting. And DC's animated stuff is usually significantly better than the MCU. Doesn't really matter if DC has mostly failed when it comes to live action movies. The DCAU will always be better than anything Marvel does.
