The Trumpist portion forms their own far-right party, while the remaining Republicans who value the traditional conservative values from before Trump showed up remain as a center-right party. The latter party also draws in the more conservative-minded Democrats to their platform, causing the Democrat party itself to shift further left.

So, to sum up:

Democrats = Left
Tradiitonal Republicans = Center-Right
Trumpist Republicans = Far-Right

The democratic party will never go further left they will stay mid center. If they were left Bernie would be their choice,not Biden.

I think you're overestimating the Trumpist's consistency, TC.

Conservatism cannot fail, it can only be failed. When Trump loses, Republicans will deny they ever liked him, call him a failure, and move on to the next figurehead.

haven't they been doing that? i think i remember a couple key republicans that have disagreed with trump on a few issues. i'm guessing because they can then go back after trump loses and be like "see, i voted against trump here so i'm totally not like him. just ignore all the other times i went with him though"
