Your needs always feel more like minor annoyances than anything

Within an hour you're just grinding away, managing your inventory, and building giant walls and machines and shit

It just feels like the genre hasn't had a game that just nails it.

Survival should be a struggle. Me finding food or materials for a fire should feel satisfying

Usually survival games have some other objective other than just survive, right? Like, if you just want an Neolithic Mesopotamia sim thats cool. >_>

But, there has to be a point where the more basic survival components become easier/more reliable to procure so that the player can engage in the primary objective. <_<

I mean sure but I just feel like the survival aspect takes a backseat to everything else

You could have a greater objective without sacrificing those elements
