I know Avast Drivers whatever works fine, but they want payment for that, so meh. I used to know a good one, but that was more than a decade ago, they haven't existed for a long time.

It's embarrassing that Microsoft's method of doing this is so pitiful. My computer freezes randomly when I have too much going on, and online help always seems to indicate that it must be some driver problem.

Make sure you dont have any duplicate drivers from plugging usb devices into different ports. It installs the drivers for each port. Go to device manager and find the show hidden devices option. Then uninstall any you dont need. I just want something to check for updates to my drivers and tells me what I need, since Windows doesn't do a good job. --- I'm not lazy, I just don't care http://backloggery.com/DeltaBladeXNZ - https://steamcommunity.com/id/DeltaBladeX ... just get your motherboard make and model number and then look it up and there will be a bunch of drivers for it on the manufacturer's website. those will be some of the more important ones. probably the only other really important one would be the video card driver, but that will have new versions all the time.

iobit has a decent free one, Iobit Driver Booster. only tried it once last week but it seemed to work fine (no issues post update), it wanted me to upgrade to pro to updata all of my drivers, but most went through fine.

Don't most devices these days have self-updating drivers? My graphics, sound, keyboard, and mouse all have it and constantly remind me of updates.
