I bought a 5700XT for my new build last week (the Sapphire Pulse linked earlier in this topic) and it's great so far. AMD's drivers have been massively improved in the year since the cards launched. I was originally gonna get a 2060 Super or 2070 Super, but all Nvidia's RTX cards seemed to sell out last week when news of the 3000 series coming soon broke. If that's the case and the 3090 is this gen's Titan RTX card then it'll be 1k cheaper than the current Titan RTX. So unless the 3080ti is like $1000 msrp it wouldnt make sense to spend $1200 on that instead of the $1400 3090 Ti. Once you're over the $1200 mark for GPU I feel like you have the disposable income to shell out the extra $200 "flex money". I guess we'll see on Sept 1. I made the jump to 1440p when I got my 1070 and while its been a great card, I wasn't too thrilled with having to already start dialing settings back just a couple years later. Figured this time around I'd get a 3080, but I'm also going to need a new build as my cpu was already heavily bottlenecked in AC Odyssey and I fully plan on playing Valhalla. But thats all assuming the prices aren't as ridiculous as they were with the 10xx and 20xx lines. The RTX cards sold really poorly too so I'd be surprised if they don't lower prices even a bit, but nvidia is gonna nvidia, I'm sure. --- This is my signature. You're only going to be young for so long, don't you want to spend more time and enjoy it with her? As nice as "Material Goods & Items" are, you have more than enough, and your not exactly a wasteful spender. Would reducing your work hrs to 40 hrs / week and spend the rest of your time having fun / with your wife be more beneficial to your mental health? I'm sure she would want to spend more time with you to, isn't that the purpose of your marriage together?
