So other then my bi-weekly shopping, I have been relying on uber eats to well, get food I don't just make myself. The problem is, I just moved to steamboat island about 30 mins north of Olympia.

At first I thought there was no delivery out here as postmates/doordash etc all don't deliver, but....I found that uber eats DOES deliver out here, just much smaller selection and about a $10 delivery fee (not including service fees and tips).

That was nice to discover but the total cost because of the way they do things would be extreme (like $20 min additional for delivery, more if I bought multiple things).

But....Eats pass eliminates the entire delivery fee and drops the service fee by 5%, reducing the total fee including tip for a 12-15$ item to only around $8, which is managable. I'm ordering a teriyaki chicken/mongolian beef combo right now, and the total is going to be $23.

Still expensive, and not something I can do every day, but twice a week or so isn't too bad. I will go into town every week or other week which is another chance at getting food to go, so that is 2-3 times a week...more then enough.

Anyway eats pass isn't as important in large cities like Tacoma, as many places had only a 99 cent delivery fee. Out in the boon docks though it is massively useful and pretty much the only way I could use uber eats without paying $40+ for a meal every time.

If there was not the pandemic it STILL would be useful for me as the drive is just so far I doubt I would go into town more than once a week, so being able to suppliment that with 1-2 uber eats a week as well, will be really nice in the future.
