Basically the laptop I was going to get never came in and they said it would be another 2 weeks, so I want to look at something I can get sooner than that. I don't intend to game with it, though I would be using it to stream and save videos from streaming. I'd also like a decent sized hard-drive for storing video. And I do CAD work every now and then so I would need it to run those type of programs.

I don't know for sure, but I feel like your requirements are going to make $500 a little tough. Specifically the CAD stuff.

Honestly whatever is the best I can do while staying around $500 is good enough. I just trust people here to ensure I don't overpay for something that isn't great.

I wonder if I would get more bang for my buck if I want the desktop route. I haven't owned one in over 10 years.
