Just started home workout about a month ago after lagging off when the gym closed since March. Gained a few pounds and say no more. Most important thing to do now is just eat right. For exercise I do the following:

  • Push Up
  • Squat (your own weight)
  • Pull Up (if you can find something to grab onto)
  • Triceps Dips (between two object same height aka chair)
  • Bicept Curl (dumbells or anything 10lbs + you can hold and grip)
  • Shoulder Press (same as above)
I do about 3-4 sets of these x10. Then for cardio I have three options; jogging, jump rope, or burpees.

Not going to get any stronger than I was before but at least stay lean and ready when the gym opens up again.

Well I would shit even when gyms were open but what I do is put myself in dangerous situations so I have to run for my life. It's a good work out.

Lol, it's not very expensive to go to a gym. The problem is, a lot of people pay for their membership, and then only go to the gym 5 or 6 times before stopping altogether.

Then they tell themselves they're going to go back, and never do, or only on the rare occasion. This goes on for years, meanwhile they've been paying the membership all this time.

Finally, the person realizes they're wasting their money and quits the gym, and declares all gyms expensive. The gym has made hundreds of dollars (or more) off you, and you didn't get anything out of it.

Protip: gyms KNOW most people are going to do this.

Hence why I don't waste membership at a gym unless I really wanna get built. Don't care. I prefer working out at home.

Was only $20/month for me. Would go 4-5 times per week on my way home from work, so I got my moneys worth. And Id use the sauna pretty regularly, which isnt something I could have at my own place (let along all of the specific equipment).

Training for one arm chinup is no different than heavy rows

Planche pushup, handstand pushup, pistol squats, front lever...

You ever seen competition gymnasts? They're basically bodybuilders and don't do any weights. I get asked what gym I go to and all I have is a pull-up bar

You don't need situps, you do a regular routine with compound lifts.

There's even a whole world of sandbag training. 100lb suffell bag of sand + rows, ohp, split squats...

There's nothing special about gym equipment

Run your stairs at home.

I used to do it for 45 minutes a day to increase my endurance. Combined with jumping jacks, mountain climbers (some people may have a different name for that one), running in place, and learning a new set of stretches.

My work is very physical, so i get a ton of lifting done every day, so that helps.

I do a lot of yard work and heavy lifting outside, I do curls with dumbbells, and I still do the pretty standard military stuff we did in basic minus the jogging/running. I've never had a gym membership.

What should I use for them?

Do the Reddit bodyweight fitness recommended routine

Or get a sandbag and do rows, overhead press, and split squats 3 times a week 4-5 sets each

I have a heavy bag, jump rope, pullup bar, dumbells, in my basement. I also have a set of rings (for body weight exercises) hanging from the pullup bar so I can do just about everything I need to stay in shape right here at home.
