I've been on a tear of reading horror lately, but reading Stephen King's use of women in his books can get tiresome. Any recommendations?

Have you read Ann Rice books before? She is famous for Interview with a Vampire

But you could also check out Servant of the Bones or Ramses The Damned. I liked both of those

Anne Rice is the most famous female horror writer I know of. She's like if Stephanie Meyer wasn't writing books about her sexual fetishes.

I'd honestly classify the Ann Rice books as borderline gay porn before I say they're horror.

People who don't know anything about Frankenstein: "Frankenstein was the monster"

People who watched the movie: "Frankenstein was the Doctor"

People who read The Modern Prometheus: "Frankenstein was the monster."

Oh yeah, Haunting of Hill House was the creepiest book I have ever read
My wife read the book and said it was awful, so I never read it. We both agree the TV show is incredible, though.

Tag for recommendations.

I love reading horror but I don't think I've ever read anything by a woman.
