Does it require you do many races? I didn't like it when I had to do it my first time and quit the game when I lost my save rather than do the race over, but I've been enjoying Rage 2 enough to consider giving it another try. Is it just a single race like the second game or does the first game have more required races?

Also, between PS3 disc and 360 digital, what is the better option to play?

hmmm. I remember there were races and I remember they were almost fun but also tedious and felt unnecessary. but I don't remember if I had to do them or not.

what I read on the wiki sounds vaguely familiar, that you only need to win one race and one vehicle to progress story at first, and the rest are optional. I think I just did them all anyway. but I can't remember for sure.

Good enough, I'll deal with that then.

Well, started on PS3, reached the section where you have to race to get a buggy weapon. Saved and quitting for the night.

Almost tempted to play on PC now, since I lack DLCs on PS3, but Steam came with the sewer DLC and Anarchy DLC is enabled through editing a text file. I might try it later to see how well it runs on my current PC.

Rage runs perfectly on my PC. This is great since it and some other ID games refused to even start on my old PC for reasons I could never figure out. Had the specs, just wouldn't run. Time to move it from the Broken category to FPS in my library. :)

I'm just terrified that I'll turn out to be wrong about the racing thing. I didn't triple check it or anything it's just sort of what the wiki said and sounded familiar.

otherwise, hope you enjoy the game. it's not bad, and definitely has some fun parts, but is notorious for one thing in particular.

for the id games not running, usually a video card driver update fixes it (vendors often release updates that fix or optimize issues with newly released games), though it's a bit of a pain in the ass to do.

I had the latest from the PC company at the time. I had some custom kind of card though (specs didn't match anything from the graphics card maker, had different amount of RAM than the closest, and it included TV inputs that I never used), which didn't help. Couldn't install the official drivers, that simply resulted in the system getting constant blue screens until I rolled everything back. Was a fucking pain in the arse.

Sound was also unique, the Windows 10 upgrade broke that through anything but HDMI, but fortunately the graphics card was fine with what was included with Windows 10. Still, I gave that one to family years ago, and mum doesn't care about sound that much.
