Place is called Louis Lunch in New Haven.

Its a small little place and your options are strictly yes/no on cheese, tomato, and/or onions. I have no idea why its so damn tasty but I might be ruined on burgers for a while now.

Best burger I ever had was "Breakfast for Dinner" burger at Rocket Burger Bar in Chicago.

Donut bun
5 year aged cheddar
fried egg
really good bacon

The donut bun sounds like a gimmick but the sweetness from the bun mixed with the sharpness of the cheddar cheese was 10/10.

There's a place I like that does a similar thing for their breakfast burger

Cinnamon swirl french toast for the buns
Cheddar
Egg
1/3 ground beef 1/3 bacon 1/3 sausage patty

It's delicious

Unrelated but related.

A few weeks ago I had a Bacon Quarter Pounder w/cheese from McDonald.

I do not know what they did...but that thing was amazing. Everything was fresh and juicy and crispy and flavorful...it even looked visually like it should, like a picture you would find online.

It was unreal how good this burger from mcdonalds was. Even the fries were made crispy and good.

It was so good I wound up going back...and it was just medocre. Oh well.

While it wasnt the best burger ive ever had, it was amazing for McDonalds. Wish it tasted like that all the time.

The way to make it good every time is to get drunk first

Quarter Pounder meat is cook-to-order, or at least its supposed to be. It could be that the patty sat a bit too long on the grill. Bacon may or may not have been fresh; at the location I work at, its kind of a crapshoot until the breakfast bacon is gone or has been out for too long, then its cooked to order.

You probably had a lucky confluence of everything being made fresh then and there. If youre not in a hurry, you can probably ask for the bacon and fries cooked fresh. Just make sure theres no line, because it does take time away from assembling other meals.

My friend was a dick and would ask for unsalted fries so they had to cook them fresh.

Then when he got the food would ask for togo salt

Not really. Just ask for your fries cooked to order. Theyll get them to you fresh with salt already on them.

For a number of years in my hometown, I would frequent a McDonald's that had regularly produced immaculately crafted burgers (for McDonald's, let's be real) but not all day, just around the evening until maybe midnight. I put it together eventually that it was due to the guy working in the back making the food. When he was around, the burgers were put together expertly, the fries were hot, everything was as perfect as you'd want from McDonald's. If he wasn't there, it was just run-of-the-mill garbage. He eventually stopped working there for whatever reason, and the food hasn't been the same since. Maybe you've got someone doing a good job there and you just gotta find out when they're on shift.

The best burger I've ever had was at Luna Park Cafe in West Seattle. It was a fried egg burger of some sort, and it struck the perfect balance between decadent and greasy-spoon. As far as chains go, I love Bru Burger, In N Out, Wayback Burger and Back Yard Burgers.

The best burger Ive had was from Culvers. Everything Ive tried there has been amazing so far. Theres not much in my town other than fast food, but this place has better burgers, chicken, ice cream and fries than all of them. Everything is always super fresh and delicious. I basically dont have any reason to go to any other places now unless I want a McGriddles.
