Why link to a reddit post that links to the actual article?

actual article: https://www.npr.org/2020/08/11/901219097/how-are-postmaster-general-dejoys-changes-affecting-workers

Meant to link both, but I used the Reddit post due to the comments I mentioned

The article doesn't really do any more than strongly imply that pulling sorting machines is because Our Orange Overlord fears mail-in voting, because of course that's the reason, and it can't be because Waterloo is a fairly small town of 67000 or so, or that Netflix has been fouling up the sorting machines via malicious compliance for over a couple decades now.

It's not even an article really, but a interview of some post office employee.

Republicans lie, cheat and steal even from their own supporters but they are ok because as long their team is in power, they don't care if they destroy or ruin America from within.

Which is why the Reddit post with comments from people in several other cities that are doing the same thing is relevant

67,000 people is a lot of fucking mail. You're a fool if you don't think machines would help greatly with reducing man hours.

Not really, not anymore.

USPS has needed restructuring for awhile.
Finally getting around to it at the same time Trump is whining about mail-in voting is either an odd coincidence, or just malicious fuckery that isn't even trying to conceal itself.

You had democracy last time and this is where it got you. You think Hillary wasnt doing everything in her power to win behind the scenes ?
Maybe she did stuff behind the scenes to win the nomination for the democrats but she didn't engage in election fraud. Two different things.

Wouldnt soldiers being disenfranchised hurt Trump? I feel like Military leans more republican.
Pretty much every republican is hurt by supporting republicans as they don't exist to help them, and actively seek to hurt the poor.

But they keep voting for them, even though most of their problems can often be traced to those they keep voting for.

The bizarre requirement to fund retirement of employees who aren't even alive yet, combined with a trend towards less mail volume as junkmail and bills move online, and UPS and FEDEX gaming the system to use the post office as a cheap "last mile" parcel handler, has screwed USPS over hard.

If you get a mail-in ballot drop it off at the designated location in your district whether it be a ballot box or an election department, etc. Don't risk mailing it in tbh

Okay, let's start with getting rid of said pension requirement and all the other weird, relatively recent strangleholds that came with it (like forbidding the sale of any product other than mail and parcel service)

If that's not an option, then the USPS is fucked and we might as well celebrate our stupidity in ruining it

Resurrect the concept of postal banking, as well. That would boost the relevance of both urban and rural post offices. May even add a whole bunch of revenue into USPS, unless it get heavily social-engineered.
