She's changing jobs in about a month. The current place wants a month notice (they've threatened people over giving less than that although I'm 99% sure a month's notice isn't enforceable in an at will contract) and since her new job was cool with that she gave them a month. However, they stop accruing vacation days when notice is given so instead of being at 0 she'll be at -1.5 days which they told her she'll have to pay back in her last paycheck. Doing the right thing has a price.
