Ive been on it for a little over 3 weeks now. Ive had a few small cheat meals here and there (couple of slices of pizza one day, a burger another, stuff like that). But no sweets (as in refined sugar king of sweets) at all. No artificial sweeteners of any kind. Only sort of sweet foods I eat are fruit.

But my body and mind feel great. No more muscle pains. My migraines have decreased and I find that as shitty as they are I can manage them without my medication now. I used to wake up feeling like I was 80 years old. All my muscles would ache. But these days I wake up perfectly fine. I also added in more cardio exercises and Im sure that helps too in combination with the diet.

I eat very simple and it can get super boring. But the payoff is worth it. I find it less restrictive than keto and similar benefits (Ive tried it before). I just eat healthy carbs instead of shitty carbs.

Anyone else here try it?

No, but I would like to sometime. Sounds like a diet I could stick to, and it is supposed to be quick good for you.

I've been on it by more or less accident when I cut weight. It's essentially just what happens when I eat healthy. I don't feel drastically different on it or anything though. It's fairly easy to stick to though.

Not exactly. Its a diet thats mainly comprised of whole grain, legumes, fruits, vegetables and lean meat. Olive oil as well for a healthy fat. I dont use anything else in cooking and I topped some extra virgin oil on my veggies instead of butter.

Sure, not everyone needs to restrict what they eat. In my case I struggle with so many health issues. I looked up chronic inflammation and it was interesting how it contributes to pretty much all my conditions. Ive pretty much eaten like crap my whole life, including childhood. So I looked up an anti inflammatory diet and gave it a shot.

Give it a try! I actually dont find it too difficult to stick to. I feel more full with what I eat. I had some cravings in the first week but after that I was fine.

I think a combination of stress, very poor diet and lack of exercise. Im pretty thin but still always ate shitty. As kids my mom didnt cook so wed eat junk food mainly. Very little fruits or vegetables. I got better as an adult but still a very typical kind of processed diet. I work a lot and got lazy with exercise.

My sister also has a set of health issues. Shes on the same diet for a few weeks and seeing huge relief. So it kind of confirms it for me.

Glad to hear it's working out and your health is getting better, Cleo.

I haven't tried the Mediterranean diet, but I have tried Keto last year. It was a challenge a few friends and myself did and, honestly, I enjoyed it. it's rough at first until I realized that I could replace anything "bad" with a healthier version and still stay under the carb limit. After a few weeks, I didn't need that crutch. Eventually, it felt like I had rebooted my entire body. I would finally get a full 8 hours of sleep for once and then wake up ready to go instead of feeling groggy.

Yeah, it's time to go back to that. >_<

Thank you! Its nice to feel human. I tried keto before years ago and had similar benefits of feeling really good. But it was so hard to lower my carbs like that and just not sustainable. I also read it wasnt a good diet for a woman. At least with the Mediterranean diet, Im not counting carbs. I can have whole grains, brown rice and whatever fruit I want. But I make sure to have a good portion of vegetables with every meal. I hardly feel hungry anymore. Before, Id be snacking all day and constantly wanting food.

i don't follow any specific diet plan, but i have been trying to eat healthier overall in the past couple years in a way that i've tailored myself and fits my tastes, but i'm looking up the Mediterranean diet and a lot of what I eat regularly nowadays would jive with it.

i do scrambled eggs with diced turkey lunchmeat and veggies, and steel cut oatmeal with fruit and nuts almost every morning for my first meal. and i meal prep protein, grain, and veggie bowls with grilled chicken strips, black beans, brown rice, quinoa, mashed avocado, and a bunch of mixed veggies, and i try to have that for dinner often. when i'm not doing that, salmon has also become a staple lately. so yeah, it seems most or all of that is inline with the Mediterranean diet.

i still get a lot of dairy though, mostly through fat free milk and different pastas like chicken alfredo and cheeseburger mac, and small servings of ice cream for dessert. i also like to eat steak pretty often, and the occasional burger. i can't give up my red meat lol.
Sounds like you eat pretty healthy. I was doordashing like 3-4 times a week lol.

I quit dairy for the diet. I discovered that oat milk isnt too bad. Im not a huge fan of almond or coconut milk. But oat milk is pretty similar. My breakfast is usually scrambled eggs with whole grain toast and avocado. A side of mixed berries. Sometimes I will have cereal (Ezekiel cereal with no sugar at all) with oat milk and sliced strawberries. Its not bad. I did cut red meat. I love a good steak and would make it at least once a week but I really wanted to give this diet a shot.

Sounds like you've made the right kind of choices and it's really helping. I'm glad as I think the last time I saw you post was about how you've had painful headaches and (I think) back issues. Keep doing what you're doing as it sounds like you've made a 180.

it also means you can now carefully make your decision once and for all: Henry Cavill or Chris Hemsworth?
