Not really, at least not to the length they went to call me as. It's like they were all congregating and hugging each other "it's okay I understand" about the horrible mean me. >_>

Yes. He blames it on the alcohol but then keeps drinking. So at some point, when people point out how terrible he is over many years and he keeps doing the thing he claims makes him act that way, he can't hide behind the alcohol anymore. He's mean, abusive, and he harasses others. Then when he sobers up he asks why people have a problem with him and when they tell him what he's done he's quite dismissive of his actions. People are tired of this same act over and over. And he refuses to change.

If you think you're not a villain, you are a villain. Non villains don't think that they're not a villain because they don't think about that stuff. If you thought about how tasty bacon was and then you saw the topic and said "oh" and then went about your day, you would be a non villain. But you are questioning it now, even if only a little. Only villains do that.

They don't buy it because you keep doing it. If it was once every few years it would be different. But sometimes it's a weekly occurrence. If drinking makes you act that way, and you know it does, but you refuse to stop and get help, you have no one to blame but yourself. Trust me, Alan, no one wants you to be that guy. You know how happy everyone would be if you got help and stopped drinking.

Apologies are cheap. If you are sorry, you will not repeat the incident that warranted the apology. But it sounds like you keep doing it. I wouldn't call that mean personally. But I also wouldn't complain if it was me. If I apologized, I did the very minimum. I know this much: an apology is just what you say to get people to leave you alone. It don't fix the problem.

No it's very true. There's no better apology than change. Anyone can say they're sorry because it's super easy and you don't have to mean it. Not even to yourself, you don't believe you'll do it again but you do. That means your apology is nothing. I'm sorry but that's just the truth. There you see how I use it? I'm not sorry at all because it's better someone tells you this.

Though I dunno what's happening here tbh. All I know is that it sounds familiar. I've apologized a lot too and I thought at one point that I could change.

I was wrong. And so I stopped asking forgiveness. If I do end up changing, then maybe I'll apologize then. But until that day, it's worthless. I can say I'm sorry, that'll make it all better I'm sure. Except it doesn't.

Nah I'm fine as long as I'm not getting drunk. The only reason I'm repeating bad behavior is the alcohol. Also I'm not really mad about you putting it that way. I kind of appreciate it. It's kind of a feeling like, I know how to NOT slide down the hill, but I don't know how to climb back up.

To be honest for the longest time a little over a month I thought I would never come back, but then I realized no one accepted my apology so why not sneak back.

No. Someone once told me that I was just human. So that's what I'll tell you. Like I said, I don't know what's going on here. But the moment you accept that you're a villain, that is when you have lost. If you think you can change, then you must change. Maybe try to stay off the internet when you're drinking for starters. You'll eventually say something pretty bad otherwise. Maybe you already did idk.
