He is kinda freaking out right now, technically Canada's AoC is 16(with no position of trust), but it's heavily frowned. He is kinda panicking right now and he told me he hopes she is at least 16 or 17. He showed me his text messages and I know he is telling me the truth. I have no clue what he should do in that situation. I just gave him the advice to terminate the relationship (even if she is 16 or 17). What do you think?(she claimed to be 21 and she claimed she was a nurse in the messages he received)

He should just move on and break contact. If she tries to go after him then he should look more into the matter. Otherwise the solution to his dilemma is to move on.

Considering the fact that he is 28 right now, he do not want to date a 16/17 years old either regardless of legality.

Well he is not famous, so I don't expect him to get publicly shamed. Also are you sure he is "safe" if she lied(He has evidences that she lied as I saw them and her facebook account do not even show her real birth date whatever it's actually her real one)

Well it depends on how old he is. As well as other factors. But as one person said, she cant be trusted and he needs to cut that off.

He showed me her picture and tbh I probably would have believed her if I was straight. She really look in her early 20s. I tried asking him how he knew she was not over 18, but he won't answer. I hope he will be safe from self harm.(he texted me some really concerning stuff yesterday)

so they met online, she lied, and he wants a pass or something??

the thing is there is no excuses for a minor and your friend if anybody protests this relationship. usually others will act legally to keep minors away from older people in this type of relationship especially online. its often predatory and monitored where there are records. stuff like that gets found especially when they hide it. one day someone will notice them and will do something to expose it. others dgaf what happened but see this is wrong, wrong, wrong. they are drawn to action morally and ethically regardless of how it happened.

They have been dating for a few weeks as I saw pictures of the two together. While not confirmed, I would be surprised if no sex happened

Honestly I will try calling him tonight if he do not answer my text and update on the situation. I do not know the girl and I have no clue what her reaction would be. Although I rarely hear case like that where I live so I kinda expect him to be "safe". But I feel he actually felt bad about believing her.
