There was a Guardian article where a respected medical science guy basically said the risks associated with COVID, compared to other risks people face in their lives, isn't high enough to where people would normally change their behavior. The point of the article wasn't to downplay Covid, though, but that quote really stuck out to me.

Doesn't tc not believe in a certain really bad event that resulted in millions of people getting killed, from the 1930s through late 40s?

Because highly infectious diseases that attack your entire body and occasionally leave you with debilitating symptoms months and months afterward are terrifying.

Why is it that he can hit a 3rd baseman on a frozen rope from 300 feet away, but he can't hit a 12 foot tall catcher from 60 feet 6 inches away?

What's stopping you from being one of those low fatalities?

It took me a bit more than 100 days to feel I had mostly gotten over it.

My aunts brother was only released from hospital a few days ago after 2 months hospitalized from COVID-19. He no longer has the virus but he is still suffering from the effects of it. Apparently walking up one flight of stairs in his house winds him so bad that they moved his bed into the living room so it would be easier on him.

The bad thing about the virus isn't just the death. It isn't just you get it and then its gone and you're 100% again like a cold. There are things that can affect your heart, lungs, and brain permanently.

A virus we don't have a vaccine for that could be easily spread through droplets and attack your organs. Not to mention the possibility of it mutating as the infection spreads.
